Leading power accuracy in lattice calculations of parton distributions

In lattice-QCD calculations of parton distribution functions (PDFs) via large-momentum effective theory, the leading power (twist-three) correction appears as O(ΛQCD/Pz) due to linear-divergent self-energy Wilson line in quasi-PDF operators. For lattice data with hadron momentum Pz a few GeV, this is dominant matching, large 30% or more. We show how eliminate uncertainty through choosing mass renormalization parameter consistently resummation scheme infrared-renormalon series perturbative matching coefficients. An example on pion PDF at Pz=1.9 GeV shows an improvement accuracy by factor more than 3∼5 expansion region x=0.2∼0.5.

We extract the x dependence of the valence nonsinglet u − d distribution function in the nucleon from the lowest few moments calculated on the lattice, using an extrapolation formula which ensures the correct behavior in the chiral and heavy quark limits.
